Join us for a 10 week maternal series for pregnant and postpartum families between 0-3 years old. We will form deeper connections to the local ecology, engage in meaningful conversations related to perinatal needs, participate in extensions from OCE garden curriculum, explore outdoor benefits for sensory awareness and development for littles, sample garden nutrition recipes, and sing together. It is especially valuable to bring pregnant and early postpartum folks together – having mothers and babies in utero and babies earth side to coregulate with each other as a community is supporting thriving life.

Victoria Carranza
[email protected] These perinatal offerings are organized with support of The Gardening Doula, Victoria Carranza. She is a current Board Member of One Cool Earth, an environmental educator, mother of three, lactation education counselor, birth doula, postpartum care provider, and village supporter. Her formal education background is in City & Regional Planning and Environmental Management & Protection, earning a B.S. at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She also has training in mediation, permaculture design, herbalism, and community organizing. She believes mothers are the bioindicators of the health of our communities and dedicates much of her time holding space for young families and doing integrative ceremonies through a practice called Closing of the Bones for all stages of the neverending postpartum experience. Most recently, before getting pregnant with her third child, she went fasting out in the desert with wilderness guides and had a profound sense of belonging and stillness. She continues to grow and return to these places within herself and knows that community care is essential to our becoming. Vivien Devaney-Frice

Vivien is also a Postpartum Doula and believes strongly in helping families build community and connect with nature. One of her favorite spots is the tide pools at Estero Bluffs! |
