One Cool Earth works with school districts, nonprofits, government agencies, businesses and other organizations to give children a place to grow. Our partners contribute more than funding support, they create school garden programs with their ideas, volunteer power, and in-kind support.
The Sage Garden Project is a program that brings gardens, cooking classes, and nutritional science – as well as opportunities for physical activity and exercise – to targeted elementary schools. The goal of the program is to reduce the incidence of diabetes. Because the disease is developing at an epidemic rate in the Hispanic/Latino population, schools with a large percentage of these students are targeted for participation.

Since 2015, Atascadero Unified School District has implemented One Cool Earth's school garden program into each school site in their district. They have implemented composting and recycling programs, created food forests, and won CA Green Ribbon School Awards at a few school sites.

The Harold J. Miossi Charitabel Trust granted a two year grant with a total value of $35,000. This grant will be used to pilot the nonprofit’s school garden program, Earth Genius, at Pacheco Elementary School (261 Cuesta Dr., formerly the home of Teach Elementary) in San Luis Obispo. The garden is located in the center of campus, so the school can deliver enhanced STEM education with Earth Genius. Mr. Miossi was a firm believer that individuals shape the world in which they live and was motivated to have a positive effect on the environment of his community.
